“NSAC clinches deal with Ribcraft for their new boat”

Martin O, Peggy, Jonathan Saunders and The Chancellor (Gerard) went to Ribcraft in Yeovil on Friday 31 March and placed an order for the new boat. Gerard opened his coffers and produced a cheque for the deposit. Delivery of the new boat should be in the first or second week of August and have its sea trials completed prior to the Pothkerris party.

Discussion on what we do with the old boat (‘Kennett Diver’) will happen in the next few weeks. I expect this will be a main topic at the next Open Forum. Additionally, I am looking for suggestions on what we call the new boat. Possibilities so far include:

Mary Hare Diver

Donnington Diver

Alpha 34 (A34)

Jack O’ Newbury (the next new boat could be called Jill O’ Newbury!)

Arlington Diver (after the school manor house)

 Any other nominations to the DO please and a vote will take place sometime in the next month or so but in time for Ribcraft to attach the name before we pick her up.
