Thursday 21st September – 7:45 pm to 9:15 pm
Come along
to our training classrooms at any time in this 90 minute period
to talk about diving, learning to dive, and what Newbury
Sub-Aqua Club can offer. Whether you are a complete beginner
thinking of learning how to dive, a recent trainee who learned
to dive on holiday or with a local dive school, or an
experienced diver new to Newbury, you will be most welcome.
Members will be available to talk to you about:
-
Diving in general, both in the UK and elsewhere.
-
Training with Newbury Sub-Aqua Club, from basic training
through a range of skill development courses including life
saving, boat handling and dive leadership to mixed gas
diving. The Club has 14 qualified instructors and 12
assistant instructors.
-
Diving with Newbury Sub-Aqua Club including holidays (those
currently organised include the Red Sea, Scapa Flow and the
Scilly Isles), short breaks (such as Pembrokeshire,
Anglesey, the Farne Islands, Devon and Cornwall), weekend
diving on the south coast and training dives.
-
Equipment requirements and cost. The Club owns two boats,
an air compressor and six sets of training equipment.
Thursday
28th September – 7:45 pm to 9:45 pm
Thursday 5th October – 7:45 pm to 9:45 pm
Join us in
the pool to try out a set of diving gear following a short
safety induction. All you will need is a swimming costume, old
tee shirt and towel. Because we need to schedule training
equipment and instructors, this needs to be booked in advance,
either at the open evening on 21st September or by
email to
divingofficer@newburysac.com. There will be a £10 fee for
the try-dive, refundable if you subsequently decide to join the
Club.
Directions
Newbury
Sub-Aqua Club meets at Mary Hare School, north of Newbury.
Please use the Arlington Lane entrance and then take the first
turning on the right to the car parks. Members will be on hand
to direct you to the class room or pool.
